THE STRANGER

Early 1960’s
A finger of white moonlight entered through slightly parted curtains, crossed a blue comforter decorated with rolling hills, grazing sheep, and green trees, and touched the brown face of a sleeping boy. The boy’s eyelids quivered and shot open.

Fearful, he remained still, staring into the semi-darkness. A troll with sharp horns and flaring nostrils stared at him from the corner. An old man with one eye loomed over his desk. A buzzard with its sharp beak gaping hovered near the ceiling in the center of the room. The sound of his racing heart thumped in his head.
Where was he?
He blinked at these scary creatures until, after a few minutes, he was able to transform them back into their original shapes: the troll into his brown corduroy pants draped over a desk chair, the old man into the desk lamp with a hole in its shade, and the buzzard into the spiraling Mighty Mouse mobile his father had hung from the ceiling a couple of months ago on his eighth birthday.

I dont have Ruby in front of me, but is this the same story that is in the book? In my opinion its one of the best of the collection, but if I may be forward and offer advice I wouldnt post it on your site. I say this because if folks know or hear its one of the stories of your book, why would they then venture to buy it? A bad move, up to you though. :D
